CSOP ETF Dividend Announcement: What Shareholders Must Know

CSOP Asset Management Pte. Ltd., the manager of the ICBC CSOP FTSE Chinese Government Bond Index ETF, has announced a dividend distribution of SGD\$0.20 per share. This payout is applicable to shareholders holding distributing share classes CYB and CYC of the ETF. The dividend will be paid in Singapore Dollars (SGD\$) only.

Key Dates for Shareholders

Shareholders should take note of the following key dates related to the dividend distribution:

  • Ex-dividend date: 13 December 2024
  • Record date: 16 December 2024
  • Distribution payment date: 23 December 2024

Tax Implications

The ETF, approved under the Enhanced-Tier Fund Tax Incentive Scheme by the Monetary Authority of Singapore, enjoys tax exemption status under Section 13X of the Income Tax Act. This status will remain for the life of the ETF as long as it meets the conditions of the scheme. Importantly, dividend distributions will not attract Singapore withholding tax.

Important Considerations for Shareholders

The performance of the ETF on the Singapore Stock Exchange (SGX) may differ from its net asset value per share. Additionally, the ETF may be delisted from the SGX, and transactions in ETF shares will incur brokerage commissions. Unlike typical unit trusts, shares can only be created or redeemed directly by a participating dealer under specific conditions. Investors are advised to consult financial advisers before making investment decisions.
